Top Medical Groups Say Gun Violence Is A Public Health Crisis

A group of medical organizations representing most U.S. physicians concluded that gun violence is a public health crisis, since it claims the lives of over 33,000 Americans every year.

The coalition, which includes the American Public Health Association, issued a “call to action” and urged the medical community to study gun deaths and injuries without “political influence or restriction.”
